Before automatic washing machines, everything that went into the septic tank was biodegradable and septic tank systems lasted forever. About the time of the invention of wash machines two important things happened. First, was the development of laundry soaps that prevented septic tanks from working. National law stopped this quickly. Second, was the invention of non-biodegradable clothing fibers. The clothing fiber problem was never resolved and is a larger problem today than ever before. These fibers will not settle in your tank and end up plugging your drain field. The only good news is you can use our 300 micron washing machine lint trap filters to stop them from continuing to destroy your septic system. Without them your discharge water from a washing machine is laced with enough lint, hair, and non-biodegradeable fibers to carpet your living room once a year. When it drains into a utility sink, the debris clogs the drainpipes and can destroy your septic tank leach field and treatment system. Our polyester bag traps the lint before it enters the drain by fastening it over the end of the washer discharge hose. Our LT-1 300 micron unit has a finer mesh to trap more fibers than any other filter tested. One package includes 1 lint trap and locking nylon & velcro straps. Slowed drains and standing water on leach fields can disappear quickly as your drain field begins to recover naturally after stopping the onslaught of these fibers. Replace or clean the lint trap every 2-3 weeks to extend your drain and septic systems life.
